Desert Wheatear at Severn Beach

Paul Bowerman identified a male Desert Wheatear on the seawall at Severn Beach yesterday - I managed to pop over and grab a shot today. Desert Wheatears are normally found in desert/semi-desert across North Africa (and further afield) so this is a true vagrant to the UK. Great to see such a rare bird in December!

  1. Nice pic Marcus. Would I have got it on my window list to join white-rumped Sandpiper and Arctic Skua?
